If you choose to go into this career field there are many different levels of public services to choose from – there are jobs in the city, county, state and federal level. Public Administration Department and pursue a career in this field can be very rewarding because you are helping to shape the future, but this career can also be very challenging.

After completing your degree in public administration you should have an idea whether you want to go to the government or non-government thing. If you choose to avoid your government may be working in the non-profit, unless you decide to pursue a different career than what your degree is preparing you for at all.

Finding the right career path

How did I get here? How did this happen to me?
These are crucial questions I get from clients on a regular basis. In addition, why did my career seem so certain one day, yet so uncertain on another?

I answer these questions by asking a question of my own: “Are you listening to what your career is telling you?”

Most people don’t listen to themselves. And, when things go wrong in their career, they don’t understand why. In many cases, it’s because they did not listen to their inner voice; a voice that does not lie. Your inner voice is vital because it tells you which path to take and which path to avoid. Listen to your inner voice and you’ll be alright. Ignore the advice, and you will have problems in your career. Can it be that simple? The answer is yes.

Job Fairs can mean a lot of walking, standing, and waiting around. You are always advised to dress professionally and appropriately, but it could be tempting to get it wrong with the footwear. Comfortable does not have to mean, scruffy or inappropriate. Look after your feet, but make sure you are in line with a professional look from top to toe.
